HOW TO DO IT :
- Get them to verbally agree to a specific identity trait. Ask: 'You seem like a really adventurous, open-minded person, right?' (They will always say yes, everyone wants to be seen this way).
- A few days later, ask them to do something spontaneous or slightly out of their comfort zone with you (a random late-night drive, a weird date idea).
WHY IT WORKS :
- If they say no, they contradict their own identity as an 'adventurous' person. Their brain hates this cognitive dissonance. They will agree to your plans just to stay consistent with the identity you gave them, building a bond with you in the process.
